Our inspiration: feeding hearts and minds

When we were younger, we dreamed of solving the homelessness crisis in California and ensuring no one went without basic necessities. As we've grown, we understand that challenges like homelessness and food insecurity cannot be solved by any one person or business alone.

Both of us grew up in families that struggled financially, experiencing food insecurity firsthand. We know what it feels like to worry about the next meal and how hunger, hardship, and uncertainty leave a lasting impact. These experiences shaped who we are and inspired the Community Meals Program. We believe helping even one person is worthwhile, providing meals, comfort, and a reminder that no one is forgotten.

Our simple goal is to use the success of our business to create opportunities to help others.

How the program works

The Community Meals Program is our way of giving back. About once a week, we bring our food truck to local gathering areas like parks and serve hot meals to anyone who would like one. We encourage those nearby to help spread the word so others know a meal is available. Meals often include tacos, quesadillas, burritos, or fried rice, and a drink.

We serve until everyone has received a meal or until foods ran out. The program is funded through a portion of our business revenue, along with fresh (beef/pork, fruits and vegetables), and unsold food (fried rice, cooked beans) and ingredients that would otherwise go to waste.

The best way to support the program is simply by supporting our business. Whether you're booking a catering event or just grabbing a meal from our food truck, every order helps us provide more meals and reach more people in our community. We are not a formal charitable organization and do not accept donations. This is simply a passion project created by our family to help our neighbors and give back to the community the best we can.

Our impact and future vision

In the first eight weeks of the Community Meals Program, we provided over 307 meals to members of our community. While that number may seem small compared to the scale of challenges many face, it represents 307 opportunities to offer a warm meal, a friendly conversation, and a reminder that someone cares.

As our business grows, we hope to expand the program and increase the number of meals we provide. Our goal is simple: to help as many people as we can, one meal at a time.

And if we dare to dream big, we hope that one day the Community Meals Program will grow into an independent charitable organization, allowing us to make an even greater impact in the communities we serve.
